How it works

Three steps from the couch to the podium.

  1. 01

    Create your player

Open Puttery, sign up with your email, choose a public handle and accept the rules. No download, no card.

  2. 02

Play each course up to five times

Every attempt plays the same six holes: two slow, two medium and two fast greens. Only your best complete round counts.

  3. 03

Finish all four. Lowest total wins.

Your best score on each course is added up. Fewer total putts ranks higher. Complete every course to qualify for prizes.

Good questions

Before you tee off.

Do I need a putting mat or any equipment?

No. The challenge is played in your web browser, on your phone or your computer. The mats are what you're playing for.

Does it cost anything?

No. The challenge is free to enter and no purchase is required.

Who can win a prize?

Players 18 and older can compete from anywhere. Prizes go to residents of the United States and Canada; players elsewhere keep their standing on the board but don't receive a prize.

I found this late. Can I still join?

Yes, until Oct 24. Every course that has already opened stays open until Oct 31, and you get the same five attempts on each one.

What if my connection drops mid-round?

Open the course again and your round picks up where it left off. An attempt counts from your first putt, and a started round has 60 minutes to finish.

How are ties broken?

Fewer three-putt holes first, then more one-putt holes, then the lower worst course score, then the lower best course score. Players still tied share the place and each receives its full prize.
